Flashlight signaling safety
Project Boundary
Android torch and camera tooling for visual signal encoding, decoding, safety, and diagnostics. Independent from Brain Candy.
Project Boundary
Strobotorch is an independent open-source Android tooling project. Its scope is torch and camera API exploration, visual signal encoding, visual signal decoding, diagnostic capture, and safety documentation around bright flashing light.
Strobotorch is separate from Till Holzapfel’s scientific-advisor work for Brain Candy. Brain Candy is linked here only to make the distinction explicit. Strobotorch is not part of Brain Candy, not a Brain Candy product, not sponsored by Brain Candy, and not a Brain Candy research deliverable.
The project may cite adjacent visual-stimulation, flicker, and altered-vision literature to explain risk and engineering boundaries. Those citations do not turn Strobotorch into a state-shift system, hallucination tool, wellness device, medical device, meditation device, brainwave-entrainment product, or clinical intervention.
In short: Strobotorch is Android tooling for visible-light signals and device diagnostics. It is not Brain Candy.
